Residential Property Managers: 2026-27 Compulsory CPD

Vertical Training College (VTC) is listed by NSW Fair Trading as an approved provider for the compulsory CPD topics on this page. The 2026-27 CPD year runs from 1 July 2026 to 30 June 2027.

Please note: this course covers only the topics listed below. It does not meet the full CPD requirement for residential property managers on its own. Check your full CPD requirements on the NSW Fair Trading website before you enrol.

CPD requirement

Residential property managers must complete at least 7 hours of interactive training across all three compulsory topics, including at least 4 hours of Domestic and Family Violence training.

Compulsory topics

VTC is approved to deliver two of the three 2026-27 compulsory CPD topics for residential property managers. Sessions will be announced soon.

• Repairs, maintenance and habitability
• Residential tenancy – revisit reforms plus common mistakes

Course information

Domestic and Family Violence training

VTC does not deliver the Domestic and Family Violence topic. You must complete this training (at least 4 hours) separately, with a provider approved to deliver it.

How CPD training is delivered

Compulsory CPD training must be completed in an interactive learning environment:

• Face-to-face training: maximum 40 participants
• Interactive webinar: maximum 25 participants

Each topic includes an assessment activity. Self-paced online learning does not meet the delivery requirements for compulsory CPD topics.

Class 1 licence holders

Class 1 licence holders must also attend a NSW Fair Trading accredited forum (minimum 5 hours) each CPD year.

More than one licence category or area of practice?

You must complete the compulsory topics for each licence category you hold and each area of practice you work in. Where a topic is shared, you do not need to repeat it if all learning outcomes are met, but you may need extra training hours. Contact VTC to discuss your requirements.
