Residential Real Estate Salespeople: 2026-27 Compulsory CPD

Vertical Training College (VTC) is listed by NSW Fair Trading as an approved provider for the compulsory CPD topics on this page. The 2026-27 CPD year runs from 1 July 2026 to 30 June 2027.

CPD requirement

Residential real estate salespeople must complete at least 7 hours of interactive training covering all four compulsory topics during the CPD year.

Compulsory topics

This 7-hour workshop covers all four 2026-27 compulsory CPD topics for residential real estate salespeople:

• Auction laws and practice
• Contracts
• Rules of Conduct refresher
• Supervision Guidelines and AML/CTF in agency practice

Course information

How CPD training is delivered

Compulsory CPD training must be completed in an interactive learning environment:

• Face-to-face training: maximum 40 participants
• Interactive webinar: maximum 25 participants

Each topic includes an assessment activity. Self-paced online learning does not meet the delivery requirements for compulsory CPD topics.

Class 1 licence holders

Class 1 licence holders must also attend a NSW Fair Trading accredited forum (minimum 5 hours) each CPD year. Class 1 licence holders working in residential real estate sales must also complete all three modules of AUSTRAC’s “Smart real estate agent’s guide to AML/CTF” course. This is a separate requirement and is not delivered by VTC.

More than one licence category or area of practice?

You must complete the compulsory topics for each licence category you hold and each area of practice you work in. Where a topic is shared, you do not need to repeat it if all learning outcomes are met, but you may need extra training hours. Contact VTC to discuss your requirements.
